Vocational Minute - Ken Stacks – Stack Associates Architects
Ken has been an architect for 27 years. Stack Associates design educational buildings but they also do office and commercial projects. Ken has designed buildings for many of the Rotary Members. In addition Ken is the owner of a bed and breakfast, West Washington Guest House, and rental property in Jonesboro.
Outstanding Senior – Matt Garner
Matt is a senior at Jonesboro High School. He is the son of Matt and Susan Garner. Much to his mother’s surprise, he is interested in pre-dentist when he goes to college. Matt enjoys playing basketball and swimming and next week he will speak to the club.

*****Glenn Bowers – Reminder to club members that the Vocational Excellence Award is to be given the end of the month. Nominations need to be turned in as soon as possible.

Mark needs the final count ASAP. We will start cooking at 6:00 am and start deliveries at 3:00.

We still need people to help. Make sure you sign-up
*****Pam Kail – A joint Rotary tailgate party will be held at 4:00 pm before the Troy State football game at the ASU Pavilion. Area clubs will also be invited to participate. Hamburger and hot dogs will be served. Football tickets will be available for $7.50.
*****Dosha Cummins – The club is still taking donations for the Food Bank. Bring peanut butter and macaroni and cheese.
*****Family of Rotary –Sheila Tipton announced that Saturday night, October 29, the club will hold an Oktoberfest at the Arnold’s home on Nettleton. Please sign-up to bring food (German if you can). The club will provide the beer and wine. Parking is available across the street at the Country Club.
Dictionary Project
Jake Morse reported that dictionaries would be distributed to third graders in Craighead County again this year. He encouraged members to sign-up to deliver the books to the classroom. Books will be distributed sometime in November.
Induction of New Members
Margaret Holloway introduced Jason Whitley. He is the General Manager at Turtle Creek and presented one of our programs earlier in the year. Welcome aboard Jason!!!

Greg Phillips is proposed for membership by Len Frey, with the classificaton of University Administration.
Mark Duckworth is proposed for membership by Len Frey, with the classification of Telecommunications Management.
Good News
*****Len Frey – College of Business will recognize Ben Owens and Bruce Burrows during homecoming activities this weekend. At the same banquet Mike Bebee will be the quest speaker.
*****Bob Trout – Bob attended the last game at Bush Stadium. The game was less than pleasant.
*****Brian Gibson – Brian’s son, Mark, who is a junior at Jonesboro High School was chosen 1st chair 2nd tenor at the All Region Conference.
*****Rita Reed – Rita is celebrating 20 years at Jones & Co.
*****Chris Reddick – First Nation Bank open a new branch. Open house will be October 28th.
*****Rob Delaney – Rob’s daughter dances with the Nettleton Dance Team which placed 1st in six events. They were recognized as Regional Champs.
