Special Announcements:

Cindy Price (wife of Club Member Bert Price) lost her father recently.  Please keep the family in your prayers.

 

            Ron Blackburn (husband of Club Member Jayni Blackburn) had

            surgery recently.  Please keep him in your prayers.

 

Club Donations:

            In keeping with our goal of using monies raised from the Optus

            Senior Golf Tournament the below donations were made to Youth

            Organizations:

            1) Arkansas Childrens Hospital Foundation $1000.00

            2) City Youth Ministries $1500.00

 

Induction of New Club Member:

            Mr. Bill Pate was inducted as a new member.  Sponsored by

            Margaret Holloway.  Mr. Pate works at Coca-Cola in Jonesboro.

            Please welcome Bill at your first opportunity!

 

Super Seniors:  Bridgett Barnes from Bay High School.  Also visiting was

            her mother, Mrs. Leslie Barnes.  A 4.0GPS and member of lots of clubs,

            Bridgett will speak to us at next weeks meeting. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

CURRENT BUSINESS:   

 

Winter WonderLand time again.  Saturday, December 2nd the University Rotary Club will help Santa from 1pm to 8pm.  Please contact Joy Vaupel and volunteer a couple hours!  Lots of fun and a great way to get into the Holiday Spirit. 

 

In addition, all proceeds from a Gift Wrap at Barnes & Noble this year will be donated to NEA Council on Family Violence.  (aka, Womens Shelter).  Dates are

December 22nd, 23rd and 24th.  Contact Club President Rusty Clark with any

Pot O’Gold survey was distributed by Len Frey.  Sign up on a committee to

Help make this years event a great success.  Lots of jobs available and lots of

people needed.  NEW MEMBERS this is a great way to earn that Blue Badge!

 

Football Picks week before last ended in a two-way tie between Dr. Joe Stallings and Mr. Jim Steele.  Mr. Steele won the tie-breaker.  This is the last week for this Years Football Picks……………so fill out that final form.

 

GOOD NEWS:

            Debbie Patton announced she is now with a new Merrill Lynch office in

            Jonesboro and invited all members to visit them for any financial

            Investment help.   

 

            Happy Birthday to Charles Harris.  Today is the big 60!

 

            Dr. Joe Stallings was looking forward to AHEC participation in the

            Annual Duck Classic.  His team is hoping to win and all get new shotguns.

 

            Club President Rusty Clark announced that effective the 07-08 school years

            He will be Principal at the new Micro Society School.  Way to go Rusty!

 

            Brian Gibson and wife Michelle just returned from Paris, France where

            they visited their daughter.  Great time was had but it was difficult

            to find a good Thanksgiving Day Dinner in Paris for some reason.

 

            Two Good News Items from Chris Conger;

            Announcing a New Grandaughter (Chris you don’t look that old?)

            And the new Daddy Josh is back home from Iraq.  Great News!

 

LOOKING FOR A LITTLE TALENT?

            Donn Mixon, Director of the Not Ready for Primetime Players is on a

Talent Search.   Need actors/singers/dancers, etc. ANYBODY for the December

21st Annual Christmas Show.  Please contact Donn for auditions (or just to have fun).

 

PROGRAM:

 

AIR EVAC LIFETEAM Air Ambulance Service was presented this morning.

Established in 1985 in the rural area of West Plains, Mo.  The service has grown

t 64 helicopters serving over 500,000 members in a multi-state area. 

Even with this growth, the service geared to serve rural areas responds to over

96% of flights to non-members. 

 

All personnel (Pilot, Para-Medic and Registered Nurse) are highly trained and

Must have at least 3 years of experience and all advanced life support training.

 

Responding to life or limb threatening emergencies, the service provides the

best opportunity for medical attention in the “Golden Hour”.  The maximum chance for survival or best outcome for a medical situation is within the first 60 minutes after an accident or incident.  To receive High Level Trauma care during this time is called the “Golden Hour”. 

 

Annual Memberships are:

$50.00 for a single person.

$55.00 for 2 people.

$60.00 for 3 or more persons.

Both 3 year and 5 year discounts are available.
