Rusty introduced visiting Rotarians -  Milton Harbison from the Noon Club, John Medlock from the Paris, TN club and Mary Anne Stallings, guest of Dr. Joe Stallings.  Tim Allison was also a guest of Brent Stidman and a proposed new member.

Super Senior Anna Kalighirou was scheduled to speak to the club today but due to a conflict at school will speak next week.  Super Senior Zoe Teague was introduced by Margaret Holloway.  Her parents Paul and Tina Teague also attended the meeting to support Zoe.  Super Senior Andrea Montgomery from Brookland High School spoke to the club. 

 

Football Picks – Josh Fletcher announced there was a 9 way tie and Leon Carlisle won the tie breaker.  Yeah Leon!!

 

Rusty read a thank you note from SAC for our club’s donation to their Art Music Program. 

 

Josh said he had also received a thank you from Coach Parker at Valley View High School for the invitation to the High School Shoot Out at Sage Meadows.

 

Ken Stacks collected good news. 

 

Dr. Joe Stallings introduced our Vocational Excellence Award winner Dr. Pete Kemp.  Dr. Warren and Phyllis Skaug, Dr. Rush and Betsy Barrett and other guests from The Children’s Clinic were there to support and honor Dr. Kemp.  Dr. Warren Skaug spoke about some of Dr. Kemp’s accomplishments.  Dr. Kemp was born in 1929 and raised in Trumann.  He attended college at the University of Arkansas.  He established The Children’s Clinic in Jonesboro in 1959 and helped to get Jonesboro’s Head Start Program started in the 1960’s.  He was a Trustee for the University of Arkansas for 10 years and is a Distinguished Alumni of the University of Arkansas Medical Center.  Dr. Rush Barrett spoke of some personal experiences with Dr. Kemp.  Dr. Joe presented Dr. Kemp with a plaque honoring him as our Vocational Excellence Award winner.
