Good News

ASU and East Arkansas Development Corporation has been very successful with the Farmer’s Market. They generally have had over 1,000 people per week according to Greg Philips.
Donn Mixon has returned from France. He said the cola wars were alive and well over there. (Pepsi is making a charge – Chris Conger can take pride!) The beaches were great – clothing optional.
Dewayne Douglas took great pride in his son, Devin’s baseball talent as the Paragould 11-year-old All Stars placed third in the state tournament.
Len Frey returned from a Dean’s Conference. While not sharing all of the wisdom he gained from the trip, he did share that Michael Jordan was in attendance.
There was nothing said about Joe Stalling’s prayers or poems in the survey results. He was a little disappointed.
Program
Dave Davidson introduced Coach Steve Roberts of the Arkansas State University Indians Football Team.
We have made a great deal of progress over the last four years, but are nowhere near where we think our program can be.
He emphasized the importance of:
- I will give great effort in the classroom. (Two of the last three years we had the highest academic achievement in our conference.)
- I will conduct myself in a way that leads to a positive image of myself, my family, my program and the University I represent.
- I will prepare to win.
Coach Roberts went over the position battles that he anticipates taking place this Fall. He is looking for great things from this year’s team. Go Indians!
