Program
Jesse Stafford introduced the program and promptly jinxed it. Jesse told of the rotten luck the same team had earlier this year attempting to put on the program but the video and audio was DOA. However, not to worry, all is well; the equipment all checked A-OK in the trial run before the program. Nay, Nay, Nay…no workeee. Dr. Bob Warner, a native of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, gave the program on the progress in rebuilding BSL following Hurricane Katrina. Mary Ellen Warner accompanied her husband to the meeting and Sam Hummelstein efficiently operated the video after some technical adjustments.
There was in excess of $180,000.00 fair market value worth of goods shipped to BSL from the Jonesboro Rotary Club base. There was in excess of $100,000.00 cash and cash equivalents forwarded to the gulf coast from this area. The Jonesboro Rotarys served over 3500 meals at Thanksgiving. The big project in BSL that the Jonesboro chapters are focused on now is the Bay St. Louis Community Hall. The goal is lofty but reachable. It will be a $3 million endeavor. Mayor Eddie Favre sends kindest regards to the Rotarians of Jonesboro, “No Pity—just Help.”
Four Way Test
Joy Vaupel led the 4-Way Test: First, Is it the truth, Is it fair to all concerned, will it build goodwill and better friendships, will it be beneficial to all concerned.
